The Titans 14U team won the Best of the Best Tournament during the weekend of November 5th and 6th. The Titans played outstanding defense and pitched very well well holding the opposition to only 12 runs for the 5 game tournament in Redding, California.
Offensively the team was lead by Tony Hernandez who hit to Mammoth homeruns and received some clutch hitting by Brent Deaver, Brandon Defazio, AJ Funk, Erik Rowen and Cody Tetzloff. The key plays in the semi final game to get to the championship were a lead off double by Tetzloff, a perfectly executed sacrifice by Ian Fisher and the game winning squeeze play by Steven Zanders to seal the victory.
The Titans received great pitching performances from Adam Hoffman five strong innings against the powerful Klamath Falls Oregon Team. Sean Callahan pitched 7 strong innings in the semi-final and final games.
Austin Mann's extra inning effort in the semi-final game and 2 more clutch innings in the final game to earn his second victory in less than a 3 hour period. Lastly, AJ Funk closed the door in three games during the tournament including the championship game.
